Having kept a low profile as a behind-the-scenes man and session player, Harvey has dusted off his machines to bring you ‘Nexus’ – an instrumental take on the 1983 italo classic “Stand Up”, accompanied by lo-fidelity Roland sketches ‘Q3′ and ‘Pale Blue’ on the B-side.
The digital release (tracked from the tape demos) includes a slow-motion remix of ‘Q3′ by fellow //TT// collaborator Kane Ikin.
“Embassy Café is house music laid bare – rough, ready and romantic. It’s the early 90s house record Australia never had – an antipodean take on classic albums such as Dream 2 Science and Amnesia. Starting out as raw cassette tape demos, this collaborative project blends Andras Fox’ deep house productions with the sensual vocals of Oscar S. Thorn.”
This Thing presents the debut release of Leon Crescent [a.k.a. Crescent] – a young producer from Melbourne who has recently surfaced, following a slew of unsolicited emails.
Crescent delivers lo-fi, internet filtered, cerebral bangers. With one foot in the future, one foot in the bedroom he leads the Australian footwork scene, with a unique stream-of-consciousness approach to Juke now dubbed “Housework.”
